The author, Bob Duniway, draws from over twenty-three years of experience with higher education. Bob Attended Yale as an undergraduate, an unusual accomplishment made all the more unlikely by his family’s financial struggles and the handful of C grades he earned at an average public high school. While he loved his time at Yale, and managed to graduate with honors, he left college without a clear sense of how to build on his education. After a couple years of selling financial services, he decided that his love for school suggested he should be a professor, and he headed off to the University of Washington to earn a PhD, completing a dissertation on who goes on to college from high school, who drops out of college and why. Since 1999, Bob has worked at Seattle University, where he is currently Director of Institutional Research. In Winning the College Game, Bob draws on his research about and experience with college, along with research on happiness, life satisfaction and career success, to create a one-of-a-kind guide to gaining the most from a college education. |
